The SC4500 has an adjustable-speed motorized cutting stroke that can be customized to simulate a manual motion, leaving the operator’s hands free to manipulate and guide the sections.  The motor drive was engineered to provide the utmost in accuracy, efficiency and precise sectioning.  The user-friendly touch pad controller provides easy switchover between pre-set trimming and sectioning modes.

The motor drive is controlled by an intuitive hand-pad that provides fingertip control of start/stop, speed control from 0 to ??? rpm, selection of motorized or single stroke modes, or, can be manually operated.  The extra long cable allows the hand-pad to be conveniently positioned for user comfort and to minimize repetitive motion stress. Automatic specimen positioning memory function facilitates removing a block for rehydration or cooling, and, with a push of a button after re-inserting a block into the specimen clamp, the electronic memory will reposition the specimen back to the original location.

A readily accessible emergency stop button instantly halts the motor drive when activated  For safety, reactivation is possible only after resetting the instrument to ensure that the corrections were completed.
Motorized operation can also be actuated by the optional footpedal to provide single stroke or continuous sectioning modes, or it can be used to stop the motor drive.  Metal housing helps to eliminate accidental activation.
