The Fibrin Degradation assay is a fast, easy-to-use latex agglutination assay for use in measuring fibrinogen degradation products (FDP) in serum and urine. They are used in the diagnosis of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). They are also used to diagnose certain pregnancy disorders and myocardial infarction. Complete FDP assay kits and individual components are available.
